Meridian Commerce Park, Austin TX · 14,200 sq ft · Completed in 11 weeks

We read the land before we touch it.
Every Groundwork engagement begins with a licensed survey and a full-day site assessment — drainage patterns, soil compaction, sun angles at each season, and existing utility conflicts mapped before a single shovel moves.
You receive a written site report with topographic overlays, water-flow diagrams, and a frank list of what the site is fighting against. No surprises in week six.
“They found a subsurface drainage problem the previous contractor missed for three years. Showed it to us on paper before they quoted a single dollar.”

A 3D rendering before a single plant is ordered.
Our design team works in BIM-grade landscape software. You see your space in three dimensions — hardscape materials, plant massing at five-year and ten-year maturity, lighting placement, and drainage infrastructure — before the proposal is signed.
Revisions are included. We iterate until the plan reflects exactly what you're committing to build.
“We'd never seen our own backyard modeled in 3D before. We changed the patio orientation on the second revision — saved us from a decision we'd have regretted.”
Every project starts with a site walk.
Flat-fee site analysis. Written scope. Fixed-price proposal. No hourly surprises.

Stone, steel, and soil — specified to last.
Groundwork maintains a curated supplier network for permeable pavers, native stone, architectural steel edging, and amended soil blends engineered for Central Texas drainage conditions. Every material is physically sampled and approved before purchase.
No substitutions without written notice. The sample board you approve is the material that arrives on the truck.
“The sample board meeting felt like choosing finishes for a custom home. That's exactly the level of control we needed on a public-facing property.”

Heavy equipment, clean edges, no excuses.
Our install crews are W-2 employees — not day labor — trained on our grading tolerances and edging standards. We run a daily site log with photos timestamped to the plan. You can check progress without making a site visit.
Drainage infrastructure is inspected and photographed before backfill. Hardscape is laser-leveled. Every plant is tagged with species, source nursery, and installation date.
“They sent photos every afternoon at 4pm. I never had to wonder what was happening on my property. That's rare in this trade.”

The work doesn't end at substantial completion.
Every Groundwork project includes a 12-month aftercare program: two seasonal visits, a soil amendment schedule, irrigation calibration, and a single point of contact for plant replacement under our establishment warranty.
At 18 months, we walk the site with you, photograph against the original install documentation, and deliver a written assessment. Most clients use this meeting to scope phase two.
“Every boxwood we planted with the last company was dead in fourteen months. Groundwork's 18-month walk showed 91 out of 96 plants thriving. That's a different business entirely.”
Thirty-seven projects.
Zero do-overs.
From a half-acre residential garden in Westlake to a four-phase commercial campus in Round Rock — every project documented, every result measured.
